Much of the UK has been relatively snow free this Winter with the only places recieving any severe amounts of the white stuff being in Scotland. Over the last couple of weeks temperatures have been reaching double figures across most of the country which is almost unheard-of for this time of the year, records have almost been broken this week.
Looking at the longer term forecast models there isn't likely to be any snow for at least the start of January with signals of serious snowfall arriving mid to late January.

Yes thats right, for the near future at least.
Unlike many parts of the USA which have seen crippling amounts of snowfall over the last month, the UK has and will stay snow free during the first part of this Winter.
The last few months have been exceptionally mild in the UK with record breaking temperatures during the end of September and start of October - some places saw temperatures of 30 Celsius. This milder trend looks like it may continue into December.

Why do the British have such an issue when it comes to dealing with severe weather, namely and most frequently we have an issue when it comes to snow. When we had the snow storms Jan - Mar this year everyone decided that at that moment it’d be a great move to start to panic.
We didn’t even wait for the snow to arrive, we started panicking pre-snow! I mean, com’on, what’s all that about?! The shops were sold out on “essentials” like bread and milk just in case we were snowed in. The councils didn’t think to save the grit for when snow started coming and started gritting the roads when it was raining so the grit got washed away almost immediately...
