Yes thats right, for the near future at least.
Unlike many parts of the USA which have seen crippling amounts of snowfall over the last month, the UK has and will stay snow free during the first part of this Winter.
The last few months have been exceptionally mild in the UK with record breaking temperatures during the end of September and start of October - some places saw temperatures of 30 Celsius. This milder trend looks like it may continue into December.
The cause of this milder weather has been high pressure and the positioning of low pressure systems which has pulled milder air from the South as opposed to cold air from the North and North-East which usually brings snow to the country.
Current forecast models are not indicating any widespread snowfall for at least the start of December (beyond this the forecast becomes more innacurate). Many long term forecasters are predicting that the UK will not see any significant snowfall until the New Year and the start of January. There will of course be the odd cold spell when some snow could fall in mountainous areas but this will not be at all widespread.
The truth is that nobody can really forecast accurately beyond around 30 days so at the moment it may be a case of wait and see when the snow will arrive.
